#254: What was the longest day of your life?

What was the longest day of your life?
Theatrical Muse

He isn't sure if he wants the day to end or if he wants it to just keep going. Well, he knows, he supposes, but he can't decide which is better. And he has this feeling deep in his gut that things won't go the way he wants to them. He's fighting for one end to the day, and the hours just creep forwards - too slowly but far too fast.

He just wants it to work out.

It's like he's backed into a corner, like he can't take three steps the way he wants to - and fuck, if he's just being pushed in all the wrong ways.

He feels like a puppet on a string.

Every minute that passes...he loses a minute to save Dean's life. But it takes too long to get everywhere he wants to go.

It takes too long for Ruby to get there. It takes too long to track Lilith down. It takes far too long to get to where she is.

And then it's too hard to get inside, too hard to find the girl - and it takes far too long to realise that Ruby...isn't Ruby.

And then time speeds up: too fast, too hard - and the only time it slows back down is when he's watching Dean get torn apart. He watches his brother die in slow motion.

It's his birthday...and it's the longest day of his life. But even then, it wasn't long enough.
